Baha Men is the name of a pop group that plays an updated style of Bahamanianfolk music called junkanoo. The group's debut, Junkanoo, was released in 1979 (see 1979 in music), and was very traditional in its sound. They soon began aiming their music at a more mainstream audience, however, and finally succeeded with 2000's (see 2000 in music) remake of Who Let the Dogs Out originally composed by Anslem_Douglas; the titular track won a Grammy Award. Their latest album is Beach Baby (2002; see 2002 in music).
The BahaMen aim to blow you away with Soca-laced Caribbean grooves.

Move It Like This (the BahaMen's eighth album) proves to be a culmination of the band's deep musical history - a logical step from a group at the height of their career.
Just as Jamaica spawned reggae, the Bahamas are known for the percussive, lively "junkanoo" sound, and the BahaMen are the chief international ambassadors of this groove.
The inviting, innovative musical concoction that makes up the BahaMen's unique sound was created when the band first formed in the early '80s, and is rooted in the rich musical history of the Bahamas.
