History The Basics were formed after Wally and Kris met at a party in Melbourne[1]. Initially they played around Melbourne as an acoustic guitar/drums combo, but when they later welcomed Michael Hubbard on electric guitar, Wally told Kris, "I caught you a delicious bass" and the power trio was born. Tim Heath joined the group in June 2004, after Michael decided to pursue his solo career. Dave Bramble joins the band on tour, playing keys, often while sporting a large moustache. The members play: - Wally de Backer: Drums, Vocals
- Tim Heath: Guitar, Vocals
- Kris Schroeder: Bass, Vocals
- Dave Bramble (live shows): Keyboards, Vocals
