Open Burning (648 words)
We want everyone who is going to conduct open burning to have, in hand, a numbered burning permit with a copy of the burning regulations.
Under poor atmospheric conditions, open burning creates a smoke and odor nuisance, as well as a health threat to area residents, especially in densely populated areas.
Burning must be carried out between 10am and 4pm, and burning must take place on land closest to the source of the material being burned.
Outdoor Burning (383 words)
Burning must be at least 75 feet from all dwelling units.
Under the law, you are allowed to burn debris from the following: domestic tree trimming and pruning, domestic garden preparation, commercial nursery tree trimming and pruning, government nursery and forest tree trimming and pruning, and maintenance of existing access ways.
Burning must be conducted without causing a hardship or nuisance to others.
