The Committee Theater was a San Francisco based improvisational comedy group formed in 1963. Located at 622 Broadway in San Francisco's North Beach, the revolving group of players presented satirical political comedy at that location until 1972. Famous alumni included improv guru Del Close and Howard Hesseman who later went on to play Dr Johnny Fever on the television sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati.
