This was one of William Holden's last films. He plays Patrick Foley, a jaded disillusioned loner who is dying of cancer and decides to return to the outback where he was born. Along the way he meets Shawn (Schroder), a somewhat spoiled kid, after Shawn's parents are unexpectedly killed in a vehicle accident while in the wilderness.
