The Ghost and Mrs. Muir is a 1947 romantic fantasy film starring Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison. It is based on a 1945 novel written by Josephine Leslie under the pseudonym of R. A. Dick. Plot summary
Lucy Muir (Gene Tierney), a young widow, moves into a seaside cottage with her daughter Anna (Natalie Wood) and her maid Martha (Edna Best). To her surprise, the house is haunted by the ghost of the former owner, a roguish sea captain named Daniel Gregg (Rex Harrison), who makes himself known only to her.
