Founded in 1841, The Jewish Chronicle (affectionately known as The JC) is the United Kingdom's national Jewish newspaper. It has played a central role in the development of UK Jewry and has the distinction of being the oldest continuously published Jewish newspaper in the world. It appears every Friday providing news, views, social, cultural and sports reports, as well as lively editorial and a spectrum of readers opinions on the letter page.
It is entirely independent and is owned by The Kessler Foundation, a charitable trust which has overall control of the newspaper and its assets. In this way, the newspaper is protected from takeover by predators, ensuring that its editorial independence and integrity is upheld at all times.

The JewishChronicle in an attempt to stabilise dropping readership has implemented the service as an add-on to those who subscribe either by post or through their newsagent.
When it works well, then it is a good service, but when it doesn't, well, the JewishChronicle can come across as being very obscene at times, even though of course, such words were never printed in the first place, but it's scanning technique of pages has resulted in many errors and mistakes.
If the JewishChronicle does that and improves the overall accessibility of the service, then they could be onto a winner, but as it stands now, it looks more like a product that is in the early stages of a beta test.
Is the JewishChronicle aiming to tempt its readers to sway towards messianic Judaism?
Twice in the last few months, features have appeared in the JewishChronicle in which readers are invited to visit websites that promote messianic Judaism.
Next time the JewishChronicle decides to write something about the internet, it should really do some proper research on subjects it is writing about.
