Encyclopedia > The Keg Steakhouse

The Keg is a chain of steakhouses and bars in Canada and the United States. It was founded in 1971 in North Vancouver, British Columbia and today operates in most provinces and five American states. Originally known as The Keg and Cleaver the word cleaver was later dropped. The Keg is well known for buying up historic manors and turning them into restaurants. A prominent example of this is Jarvis House in downtown Toronto.
