RMITV flagship

Originally it was on Wednesday night but it moved to Thursdays. It was produced by RMITV, a community access television organization based at RMIT. The Loft Live was most famous because its first host, Rove McManus, moved to commercial Australian television and has become hugely successful. Other hosts include Kim Hope and Ged Wood. The Loft Live is part of a tradition of Thursday night live variety produced by RMITV and broadcast on Channel 31. The Thursday night shows, and The Loft Live in particular, are unusual for Channel 31 in that they have had very high production values, comparable to the best commercial television, and high ratings. Other shows that have occupied this timeslot before and after The Loft Live, and during the off-season periods, were Under Melbourne Tonight, Whose Shout? , Chartbusting 80's and The Shambles.
