The NFL on CBS is a TV program that shows AFC football games on CBS, produced by CBS Sports. The program started in the 1956 NFL season, before the 1970 merger of the NFL and the AFL (American Football League, not to be confused with Arena Football League). The program did not run between the 1994 and the 1997 seasons, after the NFL TV contracts where realigned in 1994 with the introduction of FOX's sports divisions into the NFL coverage.
