They play poppy punk with influences from early rock and roll music from the fifties and sixties. Their first single, Teenage Bomb, was released in 1998 when the then newly formed Lithium records asked the band to record a single. Since then The Needles have signed to Dangerous Records and have released a number of singles and EPs.
