Chandler and Monica are able to be a couple at his office party since none of their friends are there, but Monica dislikes the new, office Chandler who sucks up to his boss, Doug, and has an incredibly insincere laugh for all of Doug's jokes. When Chandler and Monica play tennis with Doug and his significant other, Monica refuses to let them win and breaks Chandler's racket when he intentionally throws the game. Chandler decides not to laugh at one of Doug's jokes, but Monica realizes that he has to laugh at these jokes to get along with his boss. Monica "explains" the joke to Chandler, and they both give a super-insincere laugh. Rachel tries to get Monica to talk about her relationship with Chandler, but Monica (unaware that Rachel already knows) insists that nothing is going on. While Joey and Phoebe decide to go to the movies, Ross decides to stay in and read. Everyone gets nervous when Ross is out late all night. When Ross arrives home, Joey realizes he hooked up with someone, but no one had any idea that he had hooked up with Janice, an annoying ex-girlfriend of Chandler's who believed that her "Bing-a-ling" was still in Yemen; Chandler had made up this excuse to break up with her in "The One With All the Rugby." Ross enjoys being with Janice because he feels that he could express all his feelings to her. However, Ross's whining is so bad that he annoys Janice, prompting her to break-up with him and him to say (in Janice fashion) "Oh my gawd." As Janice leaves Central Perk, she says, "2 out of 3" to Joey, with Joey being the only one she hasn't slept with. Joey, who severely dislikes Janice, just shudders as Janice does her trademark laugh.
