Monica and Rachel visit the eye doctor after much persuasion of Monica. The doctor wants to inspect Rachels eye’s with a special machine. The machine blows tiny puffs of air in her eyes. The doctor counts to ‘3’ but on every “3” Rachel pulls back her head. After a couple of times, the doctor says the is still young and probably is fine. He does tell her however that she has a minor infection to her left eye. He gives her eye drops for it. When they are leaving, Monica quickly reads the letters from an eye chart, and is being awarded with candy. Meanwhile Phoebe is very upset with Ross. The only problem is that she can’t remember the reason for her to be upset. When everyone (except for Joey and Chandler) sits in Central Perk Ross asks her everything he can think of why she could hate him but none of his reasons is the actual one. He really wants to make up with Joey, and desperately tries to find a way how to do it. In Vegas, Joey arrives at the film site. He meets with the director, addressing to himself as “the lead man”. The director tells him that there isn’t going to be a shoot, because they don’t have the money. They will have it in a month or 2, so he tells Joey to stick around. Later in Monica’s Apartment Joey calls Phoebe. Chandler walks in, and wants to talk to Joey but when Phoebe tells him (Joey) that, he already hung up on him. Ross joins in too, and has an idea how he can find out why Phoebe is mad with him. He asks Phoebe lots of questions real quick. After asking “why are you mad at me” she says “because you told me I’m stupid”. Ross can’t remember him ever telling her to be stupid, but she claims he said it while playing Chess.
