The Party is a demoscene event held yearly from 1991 to 2002 in Aars, Denmark. It was one of the first parties of its kind and set the trend for many demoscene parties in Europe. The demoscene is a computer subculture that came to prominence during the rise of the 16/32-bit micros (the Atari ST and the Amiga), but demos first appeared during the 8-bit era on computers such as the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum. ...
Originations
The community originates from year 1992 when the first ASSEMBLY event was held. Back then the party was organized by a number of demogroups (most notably Rebels, Complex and Future Crew) and individual members of those teams had different responsibilities such as organizing graphic compos and taking care of the cafeteria. For number of year the tradition of organizing the event as joint effort of different demo groups continued. It became apparent over the first years, that some members of the teams were very active in organizing the event, while other members concentrated more on creating great demos. At the same time people with out demogroup affiliation became an important part of the organizing team. Together these people became what is now known as ASSEMBLY Organizing.
The Party is currently (as of 2005) the minority party in the United States Senate, United States House of Representatives, and governorships.
Of the two major U.S. parties, the Democratic Party is to the left of the Republican Party, though its politics are not as consistently leftist as the traditional social democratic and labor parties in much of the rest of the world.
In the early 20th century, the traditional symbol of the Democratic Party in Midwestern states such as Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio was the rooster, as opposed to the Republican eagle.
