All six crewmembers were lost, including Captain Billy Tyne, Robert "Bobby" Shatford, Dale "Murph" Murphy, David "Sully" Sullivan, Michael "Bugsy" Moran, and Alfred Pierre. The crew members were lost because the captain was foolish enough to think that they could beat the storm. Although it was up to everyone on board, the captain still had the final say. If they had waited out the storm on the fishing banks, cargo would have gone bad, which by the way was swordfish. So they decided to try and save their catch over their own safety. This movie ends with a funeral, but do the families get paid for thier loved ones' efforts? The answer to that is unknown. Spoilers end here. |
