Theodosia is a village located in Ozark County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 240.

Theodosia is located at 3634'41" North, 9239'35" West (36.578193, -92.659820)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 4.0 km (1.5 mi). 3.5 km (1.4 mi) of it is land and 0.5 km (0.2 mi) of it is water. The total area is 12.34% water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 240 people, 112 households, and 75 families residing in the village. The population density is 68.6/km (178.3/mi). There are 155 housing units at an average density of 44.3/km (115.1/mi). The racial makeup of the village is 98.75% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.25% from two or more races. 0.42% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 112 households out of which 17.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.7% are married couples living together, 10.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.0% are non-families. 31.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.14 and the average family size is 2.59.


In the village the population is spread out with 18.8% under the age of 18, 4.2% from 18 to 24, 22.1% from 25 to 44, 30.0% from 45 to 64, and 25.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 52 years. For every 100 females there are 93.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.1 males.


The median income for a household in the village is $23,750, and the median income for a family is $24,375. Males have a median income of $21,528 versus $16,875 for females. The per capita income for the village is $13,149. 28.8% of the population and 20.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 41.1% of those under the age of 18 and 8.8% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
