Thermodynamic Properties of Air (379 words)
This applet calculates the thermodynamic properties of air given the pressure and entropy, pressure and density, specific energy and density, entropy and enthalpy, or pressure and temperature, in SI units (kg/m^3, J/kg, J/kg/K, m/s, Pa, K) or British Units (lb/ft^3, BTU/lbm, BTU/lbm/R, ft/s, psi, R).
Note that the applet is designed especially to allow you to cut and paste in lists of point pairs from other applications such as Excel and, indeed, it is a lot easier to do it this way.
Press the compute button and the full thermodynamic properties corresponding to each pair of properties is tabulated and displayed in the lower window using the units you selected.
Thermodynamic Properties Of Air Water Mixtures- Issue Apr-Jun 1999 (2771 words)
Formulations are given for the thermodynamic properties of dry and moist air for pressures between 50 to 5000 kPa.
The thermodynamic properties of moist air at atmospheric pressure in the temperature range of -60°C < t > 90°C is given in the ASHRAE Handbook - 1997 Fundamentals which is based on Hyland and Wexler formulations.
The properties of moist air at saturation depend on an iterative determination of the enhancement factor 'f' and mole fractions of air and water vapour in the mixture.
