Pere Ubu's vocalist David Thomas, "Beefheartian" transgressor of mastodontic bulk, continued, with a series of ferocious metropolitan raids at the head of patrols with such eccentric names as the Pedestrians, Trees, Eggs and especially Golden Palominos, the insane programme of the primitivisation of modernism begun by Pere Ubu.
Thomas was the exact opposite of the modish New York intellectual of the new wave era.
