Gameplay

1979 Version

This version asks the question, "Who knows the guy better? His Wife of His Secretary?"

The Men

Three men played first & they were asked three or four questions about either their secretaries or their wives.

The Secretaries

The secretaries came on stage and were asked the same questions.

The Wives

The wives came on stage and were asked the same questions.

Each correct answer in both halves of the game earned a points for the team (either the wives or secretaries). The team with the most points split $1,000. If they tied each other then both the wives and secretaries split up the $1,000 in cash.

The New GSN Version

This version didn't have wives and secretaries & just men. This time women can be in the middle as well as men. Each match in this version pits boy/girlfriends vs. ex-boy/girlfriends, wives vs. brothers etc.

The gameplay was the same but the format was altered a bit.

Round One

In round one as in the original, the middle people were asked three questions about their significant others. The significant others were asked the same questions when they returned altogether. Each time they or either one match, they get 5 points.

Round Two

In round two unlike the original, the tables were turned as the significant others were asked three questions about their mate. The middle people were asked the same questions when they returned altogether. Each time either one or both significant others match, they get 10 points.

Fast Match Round

Each middle person was given four words/phrases that may or may not relate to them. They must answer with one of three possible choices such as, "Be There", "Wouldn't Dare", "No Fair"; "I Win", "I Lose", "It's a Draw" etc. Before they answer, each significant other must lock in their predictions to how their mates will answer. Once again each match is worth 10 points. Originally, the person holds the card to show the answer after they locked in their answer, in Season 2, the person now make the choice of an answer after locking in their answer.

Unlike the original, the significant others don't work as a team, it's every person for themselves. The significant other with the most points wins $1,000.
