THROW DOWN took a page out of Japanese filmmaking and could have easily been one of the greatest films to come out of Hong Kong in many years.
Johnnie attempted to film Throw Down romantically and it was obvious that he was trying to portray his personal views on life, growth, and how we should deal with problems, but this ended up making the film feel superficial and awkward.
Throw Down was disappointing and I know for a fact that I probably won’t be watching it again anytime soon.
