Thunder Bluff, located in the central territory of Mulgore in Kalimdor, is the capital city of the Tauren race. It was established by Cairne Bloodhoof after the Tauren, with help from the Orcs, drove away the Centaurs that originally inhabited Mulgore. The city sits atop four mesas (the central mesa as well as Spirit Rise, Elder Rise, and Hunter Rise), each connected by rope bridges, and serves as a hub of commerce for the normally nomadic Tauren. It also serves as a center for caravans, traveling craftsmen and artisans of all kinds. It is even said that inventors of all kinds come there (though it should be noted that even though that is official information, there are no engineers, gnomes, or goblins in Thunder Bluff, giving the word "inventors" a much broader definition which extends to artisans and craftsmen, as suggested). There are a number of class and profession trainers in the city, but the lists are incomplete. Thunder Bluff also serves as the home for the major Tauren figures. Thunder Bluff is only accessible by lift or wyvern, so in-game characters visiting the city must tread carefully or risk falling to their death. This is a list of the major and minor Locations ordered by region (after the events of Third Great War) in the Warcraft universe — a fictional universe in which a series of video games and books are set. ... Notable Tauren

Thunder Bluff also serves as the home for several notable Tauren.

Cairne Bloodhoof

The ancient chief of the Bloodhoof clan, he has now become the High Chieftain of the Tauren race. He watches over Thunder Bluff, and over his people in an ever-darkening world. Cairne is a Shaman by nature, and an outstanding warrior, he is considered to be one of the most dangerous creatures alive. Despite his strength and valor, he has a peaceful nature, and longs only for the tranquility of the open plains of Mulgore. It is rumored that if Cairne can place the responsibilities of the Tauren High Chieftain on another, he would leave Thunder Bluff in an instant and retire to the wilds. Many believe that he is training his son Baine Bloodhoof, who can be found in Bloodhoof village, to take Cairne's place one fateful day. Cairne can be found in the Chieftain's Tent in the eastern Main City, and is accompanied by his Honor Guard. Tauren crest, Icon of the Earth Mother. ... Magatha Grimtotem

Magatha is the elder crone of the mighty Grimtotem Clan. Blessed with shamanic powers when she was just a young girl, Magatha has sought power and prestige nearly her whole life. She became the matriarch of the Grimtotem clan through an arranged marriage that many suspect she arranged herself, but subsequently lost her mate to an unforeseen climbing accident. Since her mate's death, Magatha has commanded the stern Grimtotem warriors. The Grimtotems believe that Magatha will lead them in eradicating the lesser races from Kalimdor and retaking the Tauren's ancestral holdings abroad. Magatha constantly spars with Cairne Bloodhoof over the direction of the Tauren's future and feels that only she is fit to rule her people. Magatha was the first female shaman to have made spiritual contact with the legendary Erelga Starstrider, the only Tauren who was ever blessed with eternal life due to the Night Elves' friendship with the Tauren druids. Cairne Bloodhoof is the leader of the Tauren people in the Warcraft universe. ...
