Original members of Timbiriche (album cover) Timbiriche is the name of a Mexican group that debuted on April 30, 1982 during a broadcast of the news program Hoy Mismo with Guillermo Ochoa. Timbiriche included six children, most of whose parents were famous actors/singers/composers. Their names were Paulina Rubio, Sasha Sokol, Benny Ibarra, Diego Schoening, Mariana Garza, and Alix Bauer. Later on, Erick Rubín would join the sextet. In 1990, the album 10 was released with the same success as the previous album. In 1992, most of the members left the group and were replaced with new ones. They released 11. Surprisingly, the group managed to maintain its popularity. The final album released was 12. After that album, the group officially ended. In 1998, the original group reunited for the Mexican summer show Acapulco '98. With the success of the reunion show, a 4-night engagement was booked at the National Auditorium in Mexico City. 2007 marks the 25th Anniversary of Timbiriche. With this in Mind, Timbiriche will tour Mexico and the U.S., calling their tour "Timbiriche 25." 20 dates are scheduled in Mexico and 10 in the USA. The participants of this tour will be 6 of the 7 original Timbiriche members: Sasha Sokol, Benny Ibarra, Diego Schoening, Mariana Garza, Alix Bauer, Erick Rubín, minus Paulina Rubio.Their Album Timbiriche 25 was released. The New Band(La nueva banda) Buscando a Timbiriche, La Nueva Banda, a reality show of Mexico's Televisa, which airs in the United States on Univisión, begun airing in July 2007. An American Idol-type show, 30 participants competed to re-form the band. In each episode the contestants show their dance and sing skills in order to de grade by the judges: la mesa de creadores(the creator's table) y el consejo Timbiriche(Timbiriche Council) wich is made of the original members with the exception of Paulina Rubio. According to the grades 3 girls and 3 boys will be reported, so the public will have to call for them in order to save them. Then the Timbiriche Council saves 1 boy and 1 girl, the public saves another boy and girl, the rest are expelled. As of Episode 12 the format changed, all the students were reported and the honor roll fusioned, now the public would call to save their favorite. The number of calls was promediated with the grades, the two highest would face off to see who would be the member,and the lowest one would be expelled. In Ocotber 14th the final show was aired in Mexico showing the now official band: Trivia - Brissia was in Codigo F.A.M.A. a show which bears a great ressemblence to this one.
- In spite of being reported every week, Yurem managed to be a member.
- There were supposed to be six member but due to the popularity of Yurem and in order to keep with the original rooster (4 girls and 3 boys) they decided to put a seventh member, so they would end up the show properly, in spite of Yurem being more popular than Taide, they put Taide first so Yurem would be the proper end.
