Tina Mathews is a New Zealandmusician who played Bass Guitar in bands such as The Wide-Mouthed Frogs, and The Crocodiles. She was initally mentored by Garth Frost in puppetry at a community workshop in New Zealand. Tina later worked with Garth to Fabricate the puppets for Australian ABC television programme "The Ferals". During the 80's Tina honed her skills by working on the Jim Henson movie Labryinth staring David Bowie where she worked in the casting department. She is currently working on a puppetry project with Sonny Tilder an animatronics puppet-maker from Melbourne who's credits include Jim Henson's "Far Scape". Mathews, a kind man, loved and cared for his patients and in return was loved and respected by children and parents for almost 40 years, often treating the children of parents he had treated as children.
Mathews was a native of Leesburg, Fla. He graduated from Leesburg High School, Baylor University, Waco, Texas and received his M.D. from Emory University, Atlanta.
Mathews was an active member of Briarlake Baptist Church, where he had served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and was an active participant of the Sanctuary Choir.
