Please see the discussion on the talk page. | Tokyo Disneyland (東京ディズニーランド, Tōkyō Dizunīrando?) is one of two theme parks in the Tokyo Disney Resort located in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan, near Tokyo. It was the first Disney park to be built outside of the United States and was opened on April 15, 1983. The park was constructed by Walt Disney Imagineering in the same style as Disneyland in California and the Magic Kingdom in Florida. It is owned by The Oriental Land Company, which licenses the theme from The Walt Disney Company. "Strictly American" Despite being located in Japan, Tokyo Disneyland has a distinctly American flair to it. All of the attractions found there are virtually identical to their American counterparts in theme, with the exception that Japanese is the spoken language. Instead of a Main Street USA, Tokyo Disneyland has the World Bazaar, whose most noticeable aspect is that it is enclosed under a glass canopy.
Eating
There are several places to eat and all are listed on the map. However, the food descriptions are either not 100% accurate or there is something lost in the translation. Also, understand that portion sizes are different in Japan so don't be suprised when that large drink you ordered looks like a small to you. This combined with the normal increase in cost normally expected at an amusement park may hit your pocket book harder than expected. If you are arriving by car/bus you may consider having a cooler in the car and having a picnic. If you do decide to eat in the park scout out the resturaunts before you intend on eating. This will give you a better idea of their menus and the fastest way to get there when it is time to eat.
