Tokyo Metropolitan Television Broadcasting Corporation (東京メトロポリタンテレビジョン株式会社, Tokyo MX, after its call letters, JOMX-TV) is the only commercial television station in Tokyo, Japan that exclusively serves the city. As such, it competes with TBS, NTV, Fuji Television, TV Tokyo, and TV Asahi, all of which being flagship stations of national networks. Tokyo MX was founded in April 30, 1993, and broadcasts first commenced on November 1, 1995. Shareholders include the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Sony. Every week, Tokyo MX airs the press conferences of Tokyo Govenor Shintaro Ishihara. Tokyo MX is the broadcast home to soccer side FC Tokyo and baseball's Hanshin Tigers.
