Thomas Matthew Delonge was born on December 13, 1975. He started the pop/punk band blink-182. He was expelled from Poway High School during his junior year for drinking at the school's basketball game[citation needed]. DeLonge attended Rancho Bernardo High School, where he met the original blink-182 drummer, Scott Raynor. He later met Anne Hoppus because she was dating his best friend. He often complained to her that he wanted to start a band[citation needed]. In August 1992, Hoppus introduced Delonge to her brother, Mark, who played bass guitar.
