Nickname

Hawkins earned the nickname 'Tomahawk,' a play on his first name; 'Tom,' and surname; 'Hawk(ins),' with the entire word Tomahawk being a type of axe. The nickname has spread like a wild fever, with many commentators and fans alike calling him by it. It was appropriately first suggested by an online forum - The Cats Claw - member, The Slaughterman, who is said to often carry around an axe. It was later claimed that journalist, Mike Sheahan, thought of the name, but his claim was over a month later than the original post on the forum. Albeit all claims of origin, Tom, in his boarding school days, was often called 'Tomahawk' in and around the football field and in the boarding house. Tomahawk may refer to: Tomahawk (axe), a type of axe made and used by Native Americans Tomahawk (band), an alternative metal band fronted by Mike Patton Tomahawk (geometric shape), a geometric shape that can be used to trisect angles Tomahawk (software components), a set of JSF components (software) Tomahawk haircut...
