Tomaszów Mazowiecki is a town in central Poland with 70,000 inhabitants (1995).


Situated in the Lodz Voivodship (since 1999), previously in Piotrkow Trybunalski Voivodship (1975-1998).

All was done in an attempt to preserve the memory and honor of the men and women of the Jews of the community of Tomaszow-Mazowiecki.
At the general Assembly of the Tomaszow Organization in November 1994, the operational scheme was worked out and approved and at the end of that year I presented it before the Organizational committee in new York.
At the end of our stay in Tomaszow, we gathered in the lounge of the Hotel Mazowsze on Antogonigo St. Present were the workers and supporters of the project, including the Town Secretary, two priests, the manager of the Catholic cemetery and journalists from two local newspapers.

It took the name Tomaszow Mazowiecki (from Mazowsze - an old region of Poland where Tomaszow is situated).
Some of Tomaszow`s factories, for example M. Piescha`s dressing and finishing workshops were concerned as the biggest factories in Europe.
