Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 270.6 km² (104.5 mi²). 254.4 km² (98.2 mi²) of it is land and 16.1 km² (6.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 5.95% water.
Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,105 people, 445 households, and 315 families residing in the town. The population density is 4.3/km² (11.2/mi²). There are 768 housing units at an average density of 3.0/km² (7.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.55% White, 0.81% African American, 0.09% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.09% from other races, and 0.45% from two or more races. 1.18% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
