During 1983, year in which Menudo released the Una Aventura Llamada Menudo movie, Los Chicos were coincidentally also enjoying one of their most productive years, and Tony Ocasio along with the rest of the band became well known across Central and South America as well as the Caribbean. In Puerto Rico particularly, his face was seen commongly in such items as school notebooks, pencils, posters and other things; as well as in the corresponding show business magazines, such as Vea, Teve Guia, Artistas, Estrellita and others. Although the group's members were still clearly remembered by their fans during early 1984 (period during which the band was still, officially, together), the group did not manage to record new albums. On August of that year, after many months of rumors both by the Puerto Rican media and by the public, Carlos Alfonso held a press conference with Tony, Chayanne and the rest of the band by his side. They all got a chance to speak and express their feelings before the official announcement of the band's breakup was made.
