Tony Rombola was born November 24, 1964 in Norwood, Massachusetts. Tony has been the lead guitarist for the Boston-based hard rock band Godsmack since the mid-1990s. Godsmack are an American grammy-nominated heavy metal band from Massachusetts formed in 1996. ...


History

Rombola is a self-taught guitarist. He first picked up a guitar at age 11. According to his father, the first song Tony learned was a song by Black Sabbath. And, he also never took guitar lessons, he learned everything he knows from guitar magazines, like Guitar World. His first guitar was a SG copy -- red like the one he plays now. Before he was in Godsmack, he played cover bands, funk, rock, classic rock, and metal. He was also a carpenter before he joined Godsmack. Tony says if it was not for the band, he would still be working as a carpenter. Tony is married and has three step kids. Two issues of Guitar World featuring Jimmy Page, and Jimi Hendrix on the covers, and the accompanying CDs (May 2005, October 2005) Guitar World is a monthly music magazine devoted to guitarists. ...
