Since the end of the Soviet era in Eastern Europe the Czech Republic, and in particular the Czech capital Prague, has become one of the major tourist destinations in Europe. However there are many more on country destinations, from which Karlštejn, Kutná Hora, Český Krumlov and Lednice are definitely worth of seeing. One-day travels are offered in Prague to these sites. Nightlife

Prague attracts large amounts of foreign (mostly British and German) tourists due to the exceptionally low costs associated with nightlife, especially beer. The availability of Absinthe, the leniency of law enforcement on drug use and prostitution, and the large number of bars and clubs, located close together and often open late, serve as additional incentive for tourists from Western Europe. Hiking

The Czech countryside has much to offer, including the beautiful Český ráj (Czech Paradise), Český kras (Czech Karst) and Šumava regions. These are less accessible to foreign tourists, and one can discover the numerous natural landmarks and castles scattered throughout the country as a peaceful getaway from the busy streets of Prague.


Mountain resorts

Prague is served by Ruzyně International Airport. For taxis see taxidrivers in Prague. For travelling within the Czech Republic it is common to use CD's InterCity-trains or overland buses. Roads in the Republic are in good condition and include a highway network. There is good touristic infrastructure in every big city and most tourist resorts.
