Encyclopedia > Tramore, Ireland

Tramore (Irish: Trá Mhór) is a seaside town in County Waterford on the southeast coast of Ireland. Tramore is a popular resort for tourists in the summer and has miles of beach looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean. The town is famous for its horse racing festival every August. Tramore has over the last 15-20 years developed as a commuter town for Waterford City which is some 10 km to the north.
