Transylvanian Plateau is an plateau in central Romania almoast entirely surrounded by the Eastern, Southern and Romanian Western branches of the Carpathian Mountains. The Transylvanian Plateau, the Carpathian Mountains, and the lowlands in Western Romania are characterized by continental climate.
