Encyclopedia > Tre Cool

Tré Cool (Frank Edwin Wright III) (born December 9, 1972) is the percussionist for the rock group Green Day. He joined the band shortly after the original drummer Al Sobrante left for college. He also plays guitar and accordion.

Tré grew up in Willits, California, with his father and two siblings. His dad, a retired Vietnam vet, built many of the houses in that area, including that of Lawrence Livermore, their nearest neighbor and the founder of Lookout! Records. He also gave Tré his nickname. At age twelve, he joined Livermore's band, the Lookouts. A lot of their gigs were at Berkely's punk club. Tré knew about Green Day, and he helped their original drummer, Al Sobrante, with his drumming. Shortly after Al left Green Day, a friend of Tré advised him to join the band, and so he did.

In March 1995, Tré married Lisa Lyons, his girlfriend, and together they had a daughter, Ramona. They have recently divorced, but are still good friends. Tre remarried in 2000 to Claudia, and they had a baby together.

Tré has his own signature Slingerland drumkit, the "Spitfire". It consists of a 18×22 Slingerland Bass drum, a 5˝×14 Slingerland Radio King Snare, a 6˝×14 Chrome snare, an 11×14 Slingerland mounted tom, and a 16×16 Slingerland floor tom. Though the Spitfire comes with Slingerland cymbals, Tré still uses a 19′ Zildjian K Dark Thin Crash on the left, a 20" Zildjian A Medium Ride on the right, a 22" Zildjian K Heavy Ride on the bottom right, a 14" Zildjian K Medium Top, 14" K Medium Heavy Bottom Hi-Hats, and Zildjian Super 5B drumsticks. He also uses Remo Power Stroke 3 on his snare and bass drums, Remo Coated emperors on the tops of his toms, clear ambassadors on the bottoms, and Remo Falam Slam Pad on the bass drum. He has performed vocals on some Green Day songs, such as Dookie's secret song All by Myself, and American Idiot sidetrack Rock and Roll Girlfriend

Tre Cool - Uncyclopedia (196 words)
This misspeelign has been attributed to either the fact that Tre Cool's parents were French, and by definition semi-literate, or to the abbreviation of Maitreya Buddah, itself a misspeelign.
Tre Cool, or as he is more commonly known, Buddah, has been known to sneak up on unsuspecting Christians and enlighten them.
A surefire cure for Tre Cool is a liberal application of Benjamin Cream over the afflicted area.
