The valley of the Trebbia stretches from Piacenca towards Genua and is situated in the northern part of the Appenin.
What I enjoyed most in the Valle di Trebbia was the possibility to learn new kinds of sports or simply to improve your skillsembedded in an awesome scenery: rock climbing, kayaking, rafting and canyoning.
The old bridge spanning the Trebbia is unique in its shape, the old monastery, the churches and of course the old parts of the town are all worth a visit.
In the Trebbia valley the earliest evidence of man's presence consists of stone implements, which are ascribed to the end of the lower Paleolithic, more precisely to the final period of the Acheulean culture, which dates back to about 150,000 years ago.
In the Trebbia Valley, as well as along the whole of Appennini, the middle and late Bronze Age settlements are characterised by high and naturally defended positions.
Etruscan elements are recognizable in the middle Trebbia Valley in the Vth c.
