The chapel on Masescha was the first church building of the Walser of Triesenberg and was likely founded shortly after their immigration (before 1300).
The building next to the church served as a parsonage and was built in 1767/68 together with the first church in Triesenberg with the financial support of Prince Josef Wenzel.
