Top UK cosmetics companies are failing to exploit the market's favourable conditions, according to a new study by Plimsoll Publishing.
Twenty five of the leading companies did not make a profit last year and just 19 of the 100 companies included in the survey have shown profit growth over the past three years.
With the larger companies concentrating their energies on competing against each other, small companies had room to prosper, according to the report entitled Top 94 Cosmetics.
