A tunnel linking Tseung Kwan O to Kowloon East has been proposed to provide better links to and from the expanding new town.
In a Legislative Council paper today, the Environment, Transport and Works Bureau said the Tseung Kwan O-Lam Tin Tunnel will be a dual two-lane 4.3km carriageway, linking Tseung Kwan O with East Kowloon at Cha Kwo Ling, and connecting with the planned Trunk Road T2.
Together with the Central Kowloon Route and the Trunk Road T2 in South East Kowloon, it will form part of the strategic Route 6 between Tseung Kwan O and West Kowloon.
