Tuft's Cove is a power station in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia near the harbour narrows. It is one of the main plants in Nova Scotia and primarily serves the Halifax Regional Municipality. The community of Tuft's Cove was destroyed to build the plant, and surrounding communities were abandoned in later years due to a rise in pollution. In the 1990s the owners of the plant, Nova Scotia Power, funded a $32 million project to install filters on the smokestacks to limit this pollution.
