British Tug of War star Robert Spear was disqualified in the 1920 Olympics for being too aggressive when he jerked the rope and pulled an opponent's arm out of the socket. Team alternate William Williams replaced Spear on the British team, which eventually captured the gold. The team competition tug of war was contested in the Summer Olympics every four years from 1900 to 1920, except for the 1916 Olympics, which were cancelled. ...
