There is a good mix of beginner, intermediate and expert skiing routes. There is a mix of natural pipes, steep drops, fast plains and easy slopes to suit the needs all skiers and boarders.
On a good day it is possible to hike to the top of the mountain with skis or board in hand and view the crater lake and then ski back down to the field. Also on a clear day Mt Taranaki can be seen.
It is reached via the Mountian Road from the town of Ohakune.
