Encyclopedia > Tweet

Tweet can mean:

  • A phonetic rendering of a small bird's call.
  • A singer: see Tweet (singer).
  • A high-frequency sound from a loudspeaker. See also tweeter.
  • A tweeter can also be in reference to a street-salesman of small 'tweeting' devices, which produce a high-frequency sound by dint of expulsion of air though the device. These street-hawkers have been known to incite unprecedented levels of rage in the general populace and, for precisely this reason, the job has fallen out of favour amongst the working classes.
