Twenterand is a municipality in the eastern Netherlands.
Note that the former municipality of Den Ham, one of the constituent parts of the merger municipality, is actually situated in the historical region of Salland, not Twente.
The municipality of Twenterand also has two city halls, because of the merger between the former municipalities of Vriezenveen en Den Ham, wich are now both part of the municipality of Twenterand.
Het gebied rond Tubbergen-Albergen is belangrijk voor de landbouw, hier zijn lokale ingrepen in het landschap (landschapsherstel, agrarische natuur) mogelijk.
Voor het gebied Hammerflier (Twenterand) is de openheid van het landschap belangrijk (weidevogels) en zal recreatie verder ontwikkeld kunnen worden.
Dit jaar zullen nog een drietal landkruizen in de gemeente Tubbergen worden opgeknapt, een landlopersbegraafplaats in Weerselo en een ‘huuske’ (toilet op het erf) in de gemeente Twenterand.
