The season four finale to The West Wing centers around the graduation of President Bartlet's youngest daughter, Zoey. Trivia

Prior to taking the oath of office, Glenallen Walken is told that he must first resign from the House since "it's against the law to work for two branches of the government at the same time." Walken promptly responds by picking up a piece of paper and presumably writing "I resign, Glenallen Walken" or something to that effect. Strictly speaking, according to federal law, the act of being sworn in as acting president automatically counts as his resignation from the House [see U.S. Code Title 3 Chapter 1 Section 19, subsection (c)(3). Theoretically, one could argue that by resigning, Walken removed himself from the presidential line of successionand was therfore no eligible to assume the presidency.
