Tyrande fought during the First Invasion of the Burning Legion, and was present at the destruction of the original Well of Eternity. She was long the love interest of both Malfurion Stormrage and his brother Illidan, though it was Malfurion to whom she returned the affection. It could be suggested that her rejection of Illidan is what led him to betray the other Night Elves and recreate the Well of Eternity, though his addiction to arcane magic undoubtedly contributed. The Well of Eternity is a magical pool of water in the Warcraft Universe, and is a source of arcane magic. ...

Against Malfurion's wishes, she also released Illidan from his imprisonment, killing several Wardens in the process (something for which Maiev Shadowsong has not forgiven her). Illidan's presence helped for a while before his desire for power (as well as intervention by Arthas) led him to consume the Skull of Gul'Dan. In the Frozen Throne, Tyrande and Malfurion were discussing the Burning Legion's defeat and the restoration of Ashenvale and the adjacent areas. However, the discussion was interrupted when Maiev Shadowsong's watcher (who escaped from Illidan's advance), sent the message that Maiev and her Watchers needed reinforcements. Tyrande, along with Malfurion, helped Maiev to recapture Illidan. Their search led them to Lordaeron, where they befriended Kael'thas of the Blood Elves. They agreed to assist Kael'thas in protecting his people from the marauding Scourge. Although they were successful, Tyrande risked her life to stop the undead, and was swept downriver. Maiev, who witnessed the event, lied about her death to Malfurion. Kael'thas, Maiev, and Malfurion went on to defeat the Naga, and managed to recapture Illidan, but Kael'thas revealed to Malfurion that Tyrande was, in fact, alive. Incapacitating Maiev to prevent her interference, he and Illidan left to help Tyrande. They succeeded, and Illidan managed to escape Maiev to Outland after bidding farewell to Tyrande and Malfurion. World of Warcraft Status Tyrande is one of the most powerful "Boss" characters on Azeroth in Blizzard's MMORPG World of Warcraft. SHe rides an albino tiger. As an Alliance leader, she is always a potential target for an enterprising group of Horde players, although because of her power and the fact that she lives in Darnassus, one of the largest and most heavily guarded cities in the game, defeating Tyrande is no simple feat. Even though Darnassus is one of the least player-populated areas and, without human players defending it, is easy to take over, to take down Tyrande would still require a very large group of very skilled players, each of whom could be no less than level 70. Even then, the raid would have a strong chance of failure, as the organization required due to the complexity of the raid would be almost unattainable. Like any other very powerful boss, such as the Horde Warchief Thrall, defeating her would bring great recognition and other benefits to the players involved.
