Currently promotion from 2nd to 1st LT is virtually guaranteed after two years of service. The promotion from 1LT to Captain is likewise virtually guaranteed after successfully completing another two years of service.


After promotion to Captain an individual will sit in front of a promotion board between the 9 and 11 year mark where a certain percentage will be selected for Major. This process will repeat at the 13-16 year mark for promotion to Lieutenant Colonel and then around the 20 year mark for promotion to Colonel.
