It runs easterly past Playhouse Square, Cleveland State University, through "Midtown Cleveland" and past the Cleveland Clinic before entering the University Circle cultural district. In University Circle, it briefly merges with US Route 20 (Euclid Avenue), then turns right onto Mayfield Road.
