The United Hockey League is a professional AA-level minor league in ice hockey in the United States. It was established in 1991 as the Colonial Hockey League and renamed to the United Hockey League in 1997. The number of teams in the league has ranged from 5 to 15. In 2003/2004 season, the United Hockey League consisted of 11 teams, located mostly in Midwestern US. 3 more teams were added for the 2004/2005 season. In the past, the league has also included teams in Canada but it currently has no Canadian team.


Two of UHL teams are affiliated with the National Hockey League teams and five more are affiliated with American Hockey League teams.

Western Division

  • Fort Wayne Komets (Fort Wayne, Indiana)
  • Kansas City Outlaws (Kansas City, Missouri)
  • Missouri River Otters (Saint Charles, Missouri)

Colonial Cup Winners

The Colonial Cup is awarded to the team which wins United Hockey League playoffs. The name "Colonial Cup" has been maintained since the league was called Colonial Hockey League. The past winners are:

UHL is a Republican, and was elected by his party, in 1868, County Auditor, and, after serving four years, was reelected, with an increased majority.
UHL participated in the "Battle of the Wilderness," on the Po, at Spottsylvania, North Ann, Cold Harbor, Deep Bottom, Weldon Railroad, Hatcher's Run, and the numerous and almost incessant engagements in the final siege of Petersburg, in one of which he had a portion of his left ear shot away.
UHL was struck by a canon ball, almost severing his left limb from the body, and that night, of the original company starting from Reynolds, Indiana, in 1861, only two were there to answer at roll call.
