History Since its certification in 2001, USA3000 Airlines has been a proud provider of air travel to millions of passengers. Brendan Airways LLC, or USA3000 Airlines, known by the nicknames “USA3000” or our IATA code, “U5,” has come a long way in just 5 years. In the year 2000, preliminary discussions began at Apple Vacations to outline the organization and launch of an airline. This airline, a sister company to Apple Vacations, would eventually come to be known as USA3000 Airlines. Over the course of the following months, preparations escalated, and on December 21st, 2001, the airline was officially certified. At the time, it was exclusively a charter airline, operating out of Philadelphia, Newark, Hartford, and Columbus, with just two aircraft. A third aircraft came not long after when service started from Chicago O’Hare Airport in May of 2002. USA3000’s first destinations were the ever-popular Cancun and the burgeoning Punta Cana. The inaugural flight on December 28th, 2001, flew from PHL to CUN with Captain Tim Lyons in the cockpit. This flight, and the many others that followed, helped Apple Vacations become the first tour operator to fly over a million passengers into Cancun. Similarly, USA3000 was the first airline to fly over a million passengers into Punta Cana, a travel destination with rapidly increasing popularity and tourism potential. Though flights started to both of these destinations solely as charter service, the airline began offering scheduled air in 2002. All Northeastern and Midwestern stations offer service to Punta Cana and Cancun, fostering USA3000 Airline’s reputation as a premiere leisure airline, providing the right destination at the right price. In 2002, USA3000 decided to begin service to Florida as well, expanding service to Fort Myers. St. Petersburg, and Fort Lauderdale stations opened in 2003. The Florida Sunshine Service was a welcome addition to the U3K routine, and a turning point in the development of scheduled air popularity. Today, USA3000 can fly over 21,000 passengers to and from Florida every week, firmly establishing a place in the Sunshine State’s tourism operations. The amenities of the USA3000 flight have changed often in the course of the last five years, but the quality has never varied. The first flights offered full tray service meals, with iconic apple pancakes offered for every morning flight, hot lunches offered on international fights, and cold sandwiches offered for domestic flights. Notable previous service items have included mimosas, hot towels, and even fresh baked cookies. Buy-on-board service is a new development, and business is booming, though the complementary signature Delyse/USA3000 snack pack and the Bucks County Coffee Captain’s Blend are ever-popular offerings. In-flight entertainment has always been complementary. Featured music artists have ranged from Bobby Vinton on the first flights to the Beach Boys and local indie-artists on upcoming recordings. In-flight movies and shorts are also a popular USA3000 service standard, changing every month to keep passengers entertained. As the aviation industry changes, the airline continues to grow and develop, thanks to the prowess and dedication of its employees. A sincere and resounding thank you to all 5-year (and 5-year plus!) employees for your years of service, as USA3000 Airlines prepares for five more years of flight!
